This just blew my mind: American vs European Toilets. A variation is the german "Flachspüler" which is german practical design at its best. Regarding the American toilet, I believe you need a better reaction time to not get splashed as you sort of hover over a small lake. That's probably also the main reason why the US has such fast 100m sprinter. This is fascinating:
