I was stalked by an ex. I'd find him outside my apartment at 2AM. Just sitting in the parking lot. He'd be there when I came home from a late shift.
He'd park in the lot where I worked. He destroyed furniture to prove how much he "loved" me.
And the cops said they couldn't do anything unless he hurt me. So yeah. My perceptions of what it is to stalk someone are quite different.
