This is probably how my wife and I will take part in destroying musicians livelihoods by cutting off royalty payments to organisations that collect on their behalf... First we will collaborate with our personal AI using language to create a library of genre specific musical phrases. Second we will choose 1 or more of those phrases for the AI to build a full track around, again using spoken language to shape its structure. Third, we will create lyrical themes using the AI that will be sung by the AI with whatever vocal nuance we can describe. Fourth, the AI will mix and master the track. Fifth, we will ask the AI to create 100 more songs of similar style. Sixth, we will then play those songs via a phone in our retail store. This effectively bypasses the organisation that adds $650 per year to our operating costs based NOT on the artists that might get played on our premises, or how many times or for how long, but by how many square meters of floor space the store has. Apologies to my fellow musicians, and I know this sounds harsh, but some of your income streams are going to die very soon. As we adapt, you MUST also. Cheers.
