A year ago today, I found out that my best friend died, prematurely, in fairly awful circumstances.
It was a huge shock and a huge loss. Not just to me: she left behind a spouse and two growing children, whose loss is immeasurable. She was also a national & global leader, reformist & visionary pioneer in her field.
It was the first of a series of shocks roughly once a week, well into February. 2024 was rough.
