"Good communicator" can be just in person too - many are not into tech all even at simplest level (which can still be hard to manage let's face it - and they feel how we might feel about being forced to use AI or Advanced Tech in general.. which is fair to be honest and still a minefield considering email = gmail and Google = invasion of privacy etc etc)... and devices needed, notification etc...
I remember setting people up with email on gmail and then kinda realising well might not have been best thing to get used to... especially in the invasive-now.

More blah blah about email (optional reading),,,
-----------------------------
Story of many people's life is trying to contact people by email, as it was / is the main way
(now Mastodon-only is almost a real alternative reality!)
It's hard to showing how it's not working / how people fail other people usually really interested in what they do / need for retraining better practises and time management and retain people better to what was never really done well or looked at solving:
lots of interaction and management of it...
and expecting more with more success!
Of course use other tool like Zoom (Jitsi / WebRTC) or simple audio chat (file recording or live chat etc)... but email works as basic start sometimes...
Life can continue in it's broken ways so this is part of the hard task when we have a society running on 3 wheels (made from lots of individuals with lots of emails).
We really need to do some hand-holding or let others walk us through the idea of #bestpractices in whatever their life is about and re-training / (re)do things better to understand each email is golden!
Not breaking people but really working with them...
Email is definitely up there for all time best and worst in communication. Hit and miss and so on... really underestimated too for progress of the 'human' kind of things of many levels usually not expected but still possible by email...
