I learned economics in order to not be terrified when the Tories got into power in 2015, my reasoning being that I thought economists were all Conservative leaning and if I could at least find a positive long term outcome then I wouldn’t be so worried.
What I learned is that almost all economists are in fact to the left of centre unless their job requires them not to be, and even then it’s not a guarantee. Joseph Stiglitz was chief economist for the world bank and is to the left of the SNP
