チャノさん on Nostr: On January 24th, 2024, the Japanese translation of "Irreversible Damage" by Abigail ...

On January 24th, 2024, the Japanese translation of "Irreversible Damage" by Abigail Shrier was going to be published by Kadokawa. I say "was" because, predictably, the censorious, authoritarian trannies (but I repeat myself) browbeat Kadokawa into submission.

Almost immediately after the announcement of its upcoming publication, Kadokawa folded like wet cardboard and retracted its plans to release the book: https://www.kadokawa.co.jp/topics/10952/

>"Immediately after the publication announcement, we received a variety of opinions from many people regarding the contents of this book and the pros and cons of publishing it. We had planned to publish this book with the hope that it would serve as an opportunity for readers in Japan to deepen discussions through gender-related events in Europe and the United States, but the title and catchphrase may end up hurting those involved. We sincerely apologize for this."

The only reasonable conclusion to draw from this is that trannies don't want to deepen discussion on the topic of gender ideology, nor do they want discussion at all... only conformity and obedience.

This also proves, yet again, that Japan's highly collectivist, highly centralized society only makes it more fragile and vulnerable to the tactics employed by the censorious and authoritarian trans activist lobby. Kadokawa and the vanishingly small number of publishers in Japan decide what books are read and what ideas are talked about. They regularly work hand-in-glove with the government. They provide the single-points-of-failure that allow a few to dictate the terms to the many, and those points of failure have very clearly been captured (which, on a long enough timeline, is inevitable and the best argument against their existence).

I can only hope another publisher can pick up the translation. Failing that, I sincerely hope somebody leaks the text to the public. The information being in the public domain is more valuable and important than its commercial success, and anyone with access to the material would do well to understand that.
