Tankkaaminen = carbohydrate loading to make sure your glycogen reserves are full.
I would recommend not eating too much the day before, but carb loading during the week. Start eating more carbohydrates 4 days before the race and cut from fats and protein. Then the day before the race return to normal diet to avoid the bloating feeling and too much weight gain from liquids.
On the race day eat a proper, carbohydrate-rich breakfast several hours before the start. Coffee also recommended.
