So it doesn't necessarily mean the ones with bad info were getting payments. He didn't say they were in the initial tweets, but everyone reporting on it acted like he did.
The real problem is those records are still valid for ID verification and things like voting. The SSA guy who highlighted the problem to DOGE was a longtime employee in the fraud department, who covers more than just payment fraud.
