I definitely think that's a bigger problem on desktops than laptops though, and most type-C ports on modern laptops should hopefully support USB, 30W or 60W PD charging, DisplayPort and (unfortunately) HDMI. It definitely gets a lot more complicated on a desktop where the I/O isn't as limited and not everything can be USB 4 and basically nothing can put out a video signal when there's a discrete GPU involved. That said, I think nowadays most people who use a desktop are probably either enthusiasts or have some other IT help with the setup. Most average end users aren't going out and buying a desktop anymore.
