I recall 10 years ago Husky outsourced its hiring program to Saipem who laid off 270 unionized workers at a Husky plant north of Ft McMurray and replaced them with temporary foreign workers from Mexico, Italy, Portugal and Ireland.
At the time there were 338,189 tfw's living in Canada compared to 257,515 immigrants admitted. #TemporaryForeignWorkers
