I'm not going to take a firm stance on any of this because I am still forming my own understanding.
I will say that people who don't try to understand the history leading up to WWII and what social climate lead to the Nazis coming to power are incredibly niave.
Nazis were not some evil anomaly, they were people just like everyone else who were acting based on a set of beliefs and values created by the world they saw around them. If someone legitimately wants to prevent violence in the future, you need to understand why it happened in the past.
All the hippy "those people are evil why couldn't they just love one another" nonsense ignores the root of the situation and is itself dangerous rhetoric.
