We all knew this was a possibility and yet the DNC didn't plan for it.
They put in place a VP who everyone appears to believe is unelectable (me, I'm not so sure) and yet didn't make any attempt to groom other candidates.
Biden's team strongly implied on multiple occasions in 2020 that he'd step down after one term, and then once he was elected, walked it back.
The DNC as an institution is completely moribund, and needs a complete shakeup from top to bottom.
