the feediverse hates it. for a reason. it was an intentional choice to not implement it into mastodon, because it incetivises people to talk about another instad of with another. I think that the choice to not implement this feature has shapend the feediverse as we know it today and is an essential part of the experience making this a more wholesome place than the three other new twitters.
