I tried to sell an iPad Pro on Facebook Marketplace. Had a guy who wrote in broken English ask me for an address.

I gave him the address of the neighborhood amenity center.

He told me he was on his way but had $20 less since I was far from him.

I told him $20 less wouldn’t get him the iPad.

So 20 mins later, he said he was halfway here and would give me $10 less.

I told him no dice.

He replied that he would show up with $10 less than my asking price and because he drove so long, he would expect to have a deal.

I told him the address I gave him was an amenity center. And I’ve decided not to show up. So enjoy the drive back.

I had an asshole do similar about 15 years ago with a white macbook I sold. When we arrived, she said she was $20 short. I told her it wasn’t a problem and took a coin to remove the battery (they were removable) and told her I’d keep the battery and charger and sell them separate. All good. Imagine when the $20 miraculously showed up.
