Depends on how it is used. I don't think a political campaign should depend on it exclusively. But I think they could simultaneously post content here and on other platforms, break some or all news here first (which would draw more users). I also think that a major campaign with its own Mastodon instance or account could be part of making Mastodon more mainstream and that itself would be good publicity for the campaign.
