It has no exchange value risk & has similar long term storage characteristics to bitcoin (relative to lightning) without the risk of closed channels or long txn wait times & high onchain costs. So it is particularly good for onboarding newbs. Lightning is being used to bridge ecash, arks, liquid, & any other L2 that anyone can dream up. It's the best of all worlds.
There is an opportunity cost & exchange value risk to holding Monero, there is less acceptance, & swapping between Bitcoin & Monero is much more complicated. Swapoing between Lightning, Liquid, & Bitcoin is much simpler.
