I joined a French class at the local learning centre. We started going to a local hotel (Oz doesn't have nice pubs like the UK, but its restaurants are excellent and cheap by UK standards). A little community. Whenever I get the chance, I talk to them about climate change.
Oh, and my French has dramatically improved.
