I'm on Linkedin for business reasons and I'm shocked at how many business people open up about their politics there. Sure a Google search can bring up almost anyone's social profile but to put yourself out there on Linkedin? I know at least one person that will be losing my business after expressing some pretty depressing political ignorance.
