Unpopular opinion: Pay restaurant staff a decent wage so they don't need tips. If the service is outstanding by all means tip but it shouldn't be the norm.
Protip: Have all the 'taxes' and 'fees' and 'charges' built into the price of each menu item so you don't have to fuck around working out how much something is.
For example, if a triple cheeseburger on a menu is $12 but there is a 14.5% tax on top of that and a 10% service fee and an expectation of a 15-25% tip ITS NOT A $12 BURGER! Just put the final price on the menu already!
