No, he's on loxicom. I didn't know that newer NSAIDs were available for dogs until I read your post!
2 reasons for going for loxicom: firstly, dog hopefully has a few years left in him. Medication can get less effective over time so saving the stronger stuff until he needs it/other options have been exhausted. Secondly, the price. The injections are very expensive (vet is part of a small chain so has huge mark-up on everything) and I can't get pet insurance for him due to prior injuries.
I'll get him the more expensive treatment if he needs it, but he has to try the cheap stuff first! So far, it's keeping him comfortable and mobile.
