Reminds me vaguely of org-roam (which I do use).

That's more... knowledge work/notes/storybuilding than stuff like finding all music & images I've decided are associated with Blame! (Is this a tag? a collection object? both? In any case, no current system supports this out of the box), queuing some of it and re-reading one's favorite parts of the manga. Maybe annotating bits of songs with comments and references to particular pages that seem to fit well together.

Yeah, Pharo & its "Glamorous Toolkit" certainly could be used to implement what I'm talking about/envisioning, though I don't know that to have been done already.

The object database part is not something they have as far as I know and considering just how much data I have, it just isn't optional (my music collection alone wouldn't fit in any amount of memory I can reasonably buy).
