It’s weird how poor managers judge performance in hours rather than output. What does it matter if employees have four ‘full time” jobs, as long as they are performing each one adequately?
When I ran a development team, I never worried about who spent what time in the office, as long as we got the products out on time. My philosophy was “if you’re not feeling productive, I’d rather you stayed home and drank your own coffee, rather than coming into the office and drinking mine.”
