it’s just so fucking weird to live in this parallel reality where i perceive things totally differently from the mainstream, like i am completely detached from reality… but all the science and numbers somehow are on my side and in this case, literally, it’s everyone else that’s wrong? how does something like this even happen.

i mean to some degree i have always been in a position like this. when it comes to trans rights or disability justice or all those social movements for example, you start to accept some truths that most people would disagree with, and then over time and through action of the movement popular opinion changes

but still, this feels different. maybe it’s because it happened so quickly, within like 2 years. or maybe it’s because this isn’t even a matter of opinion, it’s not this weird unmeasurable social stuff about who gets to be a person and who doesn’t. it’s about whether or not this virus is still there, still making people sick, still killing people, and increasingly causing our social and economic system to crumble. these things are measurable, we have hard numbers, there is nothing to refute

and still somehow this entire topic just … does not exist… in the minds of most people?
