it was not obvious to the first programmers that bugs would exist. that they would always exist. that the project they were embarking on dwarfed their deficient minds and limited bodies. that everything they ever made would be fundamentally broken, a building perpetually on fire, a rock pushed up an endless hill. "surely, just one more fix" they said to each other "then we'll have it for good" but one by one they realized and it broke their hearts.
