Most aren't ready for this BUT it is possible to represent the logical architecture and the physical architecture with perfect symmetry which mostly restores the illusion and removes the need for distributed abstraction workarounds.
A good way to do this is #serverless cloud functions, using a manged db, deployed deterministically with infrastructure as code.
