the cleanup will be difficult if we stay locked within the model of kinds, because they are not descriptive
there's several layers of shit that need to be separated, and i have taken the approach to start with the protocol level, once that is done it's a lot easier to modify the event structure to use a descriptive text for kinds instead of a commie number
