Now that we have a new EP, it's time to talk about abolishing the merit order, where the energy source with the lowest marginal cost gets priority on the grid. The idea is that consumers pay the lowest price. In practice, solar and wind get backed mostly by gas, raising the price by 4 or 5x.

Below article is an example of the stupidity of this: dispatchable nuclear has to be shut down for solar and wind. It should be the other way around, prioritising net stability!
