especially about couples not speaking about their desires. i was guilty of this myself. we were younger and didn't really know ourselves, but that's no excuse. there's a deep fear of being vulnerable with someone by speaking your truth. it's strange, because speaking your truth is also very empowering...
i also chose to be selfish. even as a "submissive" my service was performed with selfish motivations. the actions weren't selfish, but they were layered with expectations. this made the relationship transactional instead of loving. this also speaks to how even "nice" guys hurt Women.
as far as switching goes, it can work in an FLR, because an FLR is simply a relationship in which the Woman takes the primary leadership role and the man supports Her through devotion and service.
my cheeky response would be that switches aren't truly submissive, they just like topping from the bottom every once in awhile. :P
