When I introduce myself, I make sure I tell them names don't stick well and that I may ask them again and please be patient.
I make sure when people introduce themselves that I get their name correct. I do this by using their name replying to introduction.
During conversations I try to use their name often.
This works well when I see people reasonably soon after previously meeting.
When I can't recall I confess it and start over.
