I started questioning fiat while writing my master’s thesis in 2007/2008; it was on the monetary policy of the FED during the Greenspan era. I spent six months digging through the FED transcripts.
The conclusion was, easy money policies fueled asset bubbles in stocks and real estate, and they were about to burst.
