I have a friend who runs a recycling plant (outside the US), so I understand that recycling programs can be very helpful (in some places). My opposition has been based on several things. 1) That recycling programs give the false illusion that they are important for fighting global warming; and 2) the original REDUCE, Reuse, recycle concept listed those practices in order of importance. We need to reduce the amount of waste that ends up in the world.
