BGP was yet another centralization tactic deployed in the 90s. Like ICANN, it was sold as labor saving for large organizations with many peers. (Which it was.) But then normies were encouraged to use various Big Tech companies for a single peer connection. Beginning in 2000s, small operators (typically "dialup") not globalist aligned were persecuted via lawfare and outright perjury.
