Opioids for people in pain
All are addictive.
All are capable of destroying someone.
All of them make pharma billions per year.
On the other side of the spectrum, I’ve seen SSRIs totally dull people out so they aren’t overly wired or schizophrenic— but instead become blank and anhedonic… a horrible fate for any human soul.
Mechanistically, these drugs are primitive even if they work for some people. The groups of people who are affected negatively is larger than what should be allowed for an approved drug.
