YOU CAN'T LIVE IN A #BITCOIN
Ok, I believe that Bitcoin is a miraculous technology that is here to save the world!
But this point that #Saylor Makes about the digital transformation of assets is annoying because it is too one sided.
Saylor often asserts that when you are traveling you don’t bring 100 hard back books, or your vinyl LP collection. Fair enough.
And he bangs on about how everything is digital… education is digital etc etc
He says we have digital copies of our books,
Spotify for Music…. blah blah
Here is the kicker though, in his passionate rants he never acknowledges the value of ‘high touch’ assets or experiences. He fails to temper his view with how much value playing music on vinyl holds or how reading a paper book feels.
The digital transformation is perfect for money but not for everything. You can’t digitally abstract the feeling of flipping the sides of a vinyl record or the smell of the pages from a new book, you can't digitally abstract a hug from a loved one….
This narrative lacks a link back to the real world, the 3d reality within which we actually exist; which in my opinion is a major shortcoming of many of Saylor's rants.
