Those of you who are somewhat familiar with my eating habits would know that while I generally avoid refined sugar, I do have a bit of a sweet tooth... Sharing a couple of creations from last week for those interested :)
Pictured above:
1) Greek yoghurt with kiwifruit, mandarins, pumpkin seeds, walnuts, desiccated coconut, Manuka honey, maple syrup and cinnamon
Note that according to ayurvedic principles, fruit and nuts should not be mixed. I can confirm that from my personal experience - mixing fruit and nuts will result in the food being much more taxing on the digestive system. It can be a tasty combination though, no doubt: the earthiness of nuts contrasted to the sweet & sour properties of fruit can be as enticing as the contrast between the sweetness of chocolate and the bitterness of coffee... But you have been warned. Definitely would not recommend mixing them in a late night snack.
2) A basic variation: Greek yoghurt with walnuts, honey and cinnamon
Pictured above:
1) Toasted sourdough with coconut oil, Manuka honey, maple syrup, desiccated coconut and cinnamon
2) A basic variation: Toasted sourdough with butter, ghee or coconut oil, honey and cinnamon
Hope this serves as a bit of an inspiration 🤠 Also, feel free to share: what sugar-free sweet treats do you like to have?
