"content": "ð¬ð§ Britain increases funding for new nuclear reactor at Sizewell C, a plan to power 6 million homes with 24/7 clean energy. The total has been raised to 5.5 billion pounds for the project.\n\nThese units get built for 80 years service or more. Together with Hinkley Point C and Sizewell B (a single unit PWR which has been delivering since 1996) the total would be around 60 TWh annually, or around 17% of the UK electricity consumption.\n\nThe UK has several legacy nuclear sites, which could be repurposed for these new safe units. I hope the new Labour government goes ahead and pushes forward.\n\n#Nuclear #EnergyTransition #UK\n\nð https://www.livemint.com/companies/news/uk-proposes-5-5-bln-pound-subsidy-for-sizewell-c-nuclear-plant-11725036963313.html\nhttps://greennuclear.online/system/media_attachments/files/113/055/345/044/153/168/original/92637bc46fdf41be.png\n",
