We’re currently looking at holiday accommodation in Spain. There seems to be an enormous number of 1 bedroom studio apartments, probably built for tourism & not necessarily suitable for permanent accommodation. We’re more than happy to book cheap & cheerful 3 star hotels, & will do so when possible, on principle. Limiting our stay in busy Barcelona, partly due to costs, but also crowds. Part of the problem is tourists with limited time who cram into tourist hotspots, neglecting the rest of the country.
