That sounds annoying and alarming. Since you have evidence that ants may be nesting in the wood this means the wood is VERY soft. They can't generally make nests in wood that isn't very damp or dry rotted. Basically to get them to leave you need to find the source of the dampness or dry rot. Do you have any sense of how water might be in contact with the wood? Pipes? A leak? The silverfish are also there because of moist conditions.
