I discovered Natural Hygiene 35 years ago. One of the tenets of Natural Hygiene is the natural human diet consisting of raw plant based foods, mostly fruit. When I heard this I saw the value of it and how it made so much sense to live in alignment with our natural design, I had no doubts that this was the path forward for me. My transition begun at that moment, had its ups and downs along the way, but lasted for 34 years until I encountered the “invisible forces”.
I attended the Texas Fruit Festival 2022, which is a gathering designed to bring people together and raise awareness of the many benefits of a fruit based lifestyle. Something happened that day, something that is beyond explanation. A shift occurred in side of me, from then on after 34 years of struggling in my transition to a raw food diet, I no longer even crave cooked foods. Being in the presence of a group of people, wherever they happened to be on their journey, emanated some sort of energy that entered into my core that caused the shift to happen. I can’t say I understand it or explain it but it happened.
There is a certain aspect of community that I have neglected on my journey. There is a tipping point that was reached where through some sort of convergent evolution that these invisible forces were operating. What I knew intellectually as the proper approach, did not pan out flying solo. The energy of the group alone was enough to push me over the edge. There was no particular person, occurrence or interaction that was a light bulb moment. A mysterious influence created the internal shift.
I am forever grateful to all those in attendance and to Tiffany who created and organized the event. I have developed many friendships through our continued “fruitlucks” that we have on a regular basis. The tide is rising. Our energy and attention focused in the right direction can affect change in unforeseen ways. I have always believed this, but being on the other end of that change, I know it is certain and that many of my past actions have helped to lift the tide. Where are you willing to focus your attention and energy?
