Interesting. I think @npub1n0s…k6h0 (#nostur) is using the poop emoji for #Monero .
Shady.
Does anyone know if there’s a way to change that?

According to this, Solo mining with 4.86 TH/s is extremely unlikely to earn a block reward. (using a couple Apollo miners from FutureBit).
The odds are so low that it would take over 1,500 years (statistically) to find a block.
Pool mining is a much more practical approach for smaller miners, as you contribute your hashpower to a pool and earn proportional rewards based on the work your miner performs.
But we do it for the cause, the #bitcoin cause. https://image.nostr.build/1ddfb7c3089f3d9663d4a9041f07e1a341f4253924006c9b4eb9f85111f05e12.jpg

“The goal of their algorithm is to manipulate the human mind so that it feels and needs things that it needed or felt for itself. We can no longer follow the maxim of believing in ourselves, or listening to our hearts. TIL otium vs negotium (latin)
Otium = leisure
Negotium = not-otium, busy-ness.
When money is involved, it’s not otium anymore, it becomes negotium (business)
In spanish makes more sense:

“negocio” (al contrario de ocio, significa ocuparse)

“You want all humans to be harmless, which might not be possible. Also, the ones who would benefit from avoiding harm are the ones likely to cause it, not the ones who wouldn't be affected even if it happened.”
“You are expressing a wish that the whole human race were inoffensive, which may hardly be; moreover, those who would gain by such wrongs not being done are those who would do them, not he who could not suffer from them even if they were done.”

it depends on what course and instructor(s), but overall I think it’s a good experience if you’re into programming.
You don’t necessarily have to finish the course, so it’s a low-risk time investment.
Don’t forget to be kind to yourself.
Even machines need rest days every once in a while.
“Time is now the currency. We earn it and spend it. The rich can live forever. And the rest of us… I just want to wake up with more time on my hand than hours in the day.”
Intro from the 2011 movie “In Time”.
The story resonates with me because it highlights how the system is designed in such a way that you can’t get around it easily.
How people wake up every day, chasing money, because it’s life or death.

Specially since the tracking from the Canadian gov to those who donated Bitcoin to the Freedom Convoy. It was a great example of why privacy matters, how quickly things can escalate if an entity can track monetary transactions and the importance of non-custodial wallets.
The least a Bitcoiner can do, is to some (preferably all) non-KYC Bitcoin.
VectorLinux (Slackware) was the first Linux distribution I used.
It was the _only_ one compatible with our family’s only computer at the time. It was a pentium MMX 166MHz. Can’t remember the brand. But it was a black, heavy, sturdy and beautiful beast. The monitor seated on top of the horizontal chasis. You could hear the insect-like noise from the mechanical hard drive. The speakers were integrated in the monitor.
Every single distro I tried, crashed on kernel panic error.
It was a long and tedious process because I had to download the ISO file (over slow dial-up, I think it was 128 or 256Kbps), burn it to a CD at slow speed (otherwise it wouldn’t read it), and finally boot it… only to see it crash.
Then I would go find a different distro and repeat the process. There was no google back then. Only forums filled with other enthusiasts like me.
Then, like magic, VectorLinux worked out of the box. And it was fast.
Dear traveler:
When a big company engages in philanthropy, it might seem like something good and positive, as it benefits many sectors: health, education, social programs, real state, arts and culture.
But if you know where to look, you’ll find that there are other, usually darker motives that tend to cause more harm than good.
Why would a very wealthy entity do philanthropy in these very specific sectors? Why not just give it to charity?
Are they doing it just for social responsibility, legacy and reputation? Financial benefits? Or power and Influence? Maybe consolidating a monopoly?
The devil is in the details, as they say.

I didn't realize until I finished public school that I missed the entire point of it.
I thought it was to learn and be educated.
But in reality it was to learn to sit down and shut up for 8 hours to prepare for the workforce.
You're taught how to be obedient, how to understand structure, and the value of doing work of anyone with authority that tells you to do it.
Nowadays you're taught to love the government, focus on every negative aspect of your country’s history, surrender your rights, get offended by everything, make excuses for your shortcomings, and force these ideas upon others.

“Great lawns need small amounts of daily care, and so do great programmers.”
Programming is a craft. At its simplest, it comes down to getting a computer to do what you want it to do (or what your user wants it to do). As a programmer, you are part listener, part advisor, part interpreter, and part dictator.
You try to capture elusive requirements and find a way of expressing them so that a mere machine can do them justice. You try to document your work so that others can understand it, and you try to engineer your work so that others can build on it. What's more, you try to do all this against the relentless ticking of the project clock. You work small miracles every day.
It's a difficult job.

Depends on interpretation, but one example could be:
A hero who gives his life for others, lives forever in history. He embraces death because he knows it will save other people’s lives.
Whereas a coward or a traitor who runs away or betrays to save his own life, inevitably dies into oblivion.
Those who cling to death, live. Those who cling to life, die.
