From the man behind unrealized capital gains tax in Denmark 😱
"In recent years, there have been examples of Danish crypto investors being heavily taxed. Therefore, I am pleased that the Tax Council has today submitted some well-considered and up-to-date recommendations. The council's recommendations may be a way to ensure a more fair taxation of crypto investors' gains and losses," says Finance Minister Rasmus Stoklund
The law will properly be passed in January 2025.

With a zero followers nym account, how I manage to reach #Danish #Bitcoiners?
#Denmark is about to pass an unrealized capital gains tax, that will force Bitcoiners to sell their #Bitcoin to pay tax on gains every year without ever having sold a single sat.
I not sure most Bitcoiners in Denmark are aware of this and planning accordingly...

With the upcoming unrealized capital gains tax law in 2026 in #Denmark, your #BITCOIN STACK WILL BE ABSOLUTELY DECIMATED, and you will be forced to sell most of your Bitcoin over time and never be able to regain it again.
If you are not yet aware of this, please google "bitcoin lagerbeskatning".
Therefore, it's time to start thinking about your gameplan. What are your options?
- Leaving Denmark might not be a viable option for most people.
- Not disclosing your stack and risking years in jail for tax fraud is definitely not recommended.
- Selling your Bitcoin, paying the about 40% tax, and then move the remaining money out of the country to start a company in a more Bitcoin-friendly country could be a solution. This way, you can still live in Denmark and own Bitcoin without having to pay unrealized capital gains tax.
- Are there other options?
