We've had this discussion on Nostr many times (and I've only been here for a week, lol.) Can a genuinely decentralized protocol be user-friendly? Devs are all doing their own thing here and are underpaid or not paid... or overworked. There's no centralized overlord to make it cohesive. I think(?) it's just a matter of time before it becomes more user-friendly, and hopefully they can do that without sacrificing principles.

Friends, I can no longer post videos on Nostr. I tried multiple clients. I only posted 3 videos so far today and tried to space them out so I didn't overload the system. I ideally need to post around 6 or 7 videos each day and up to 20 for some breaking news stories. Do I need to wait longer in between posts?

I'm coming from Bluesky where the user experience is 100% seamless, except during a mass influx of signups but even then it was just a little pothole in the road, although the protocol is not actually decentralized - a fatal flaw in my book. I also remember the glory days of original Twitter (which had a tip option) before the Musk takeover.

Like I always say, I'm willing to suffer through the 9 circles of hell for a truly decentralized protocol. I end up getting shadowbanned - never banned which would have been a mercy - everywhere I go. But I have to say that Nostr is challenging even that, LOL. I'm sure that having tech skills makes it easier, and the community seems kind and willing to help which could offset any screams of frustration.

It looks like the relays issue may have solved my missing notes problem. I added the popular relays and others you recommended and all of a sudden I have more people seeing my posts and following.
With that said, I think it's incredible that Nostr would expect new users to figure this stuff out. Is there a plan to 1) fix the bugs and 2) make Nostr user-friendly?

Primal hates me. And there's no log out option now. I'm using Damus on my iPhone to get notifications, because it's the only Nostr app that works for me to get notifications. But I use my Android, not my iPhone which I was planning to sell, and I primarily work on a desktop.
I was also planning to switch to GoogleOS from iMac because Apple isn't great at handling multiple live news streams which I need for news.
For now, Coracle and Ditto are working the best for my content (breaking news including short videos uploaded via desktop) even though half of my posts are still missing.

I'm on Jumble! Login worked with both npub and nsec. It also has an option for a signer, but I'm not touching that, and I'm not touching anything. I'm just happy to have a desktop client that works and the UI feels clean and simple.
I added my usual relays (nostr.wine)... Should I use different relays?
Let me know if you get this reply. And then I'll try posting media and see if that breaks the site like the others.

Signing in to various Nostr desktop clients with npub, a journey:
— Coracle: No option to sign in with keys, signer only
— Primal: No option to sign in public key, private key only, no option to log out
— Nostrr: Signed in with npub, site is forever loading, not working
— NoStrudel: Sign in with npub and it worked! Most of my posts are still missing
— Snort: Signed in with npub and it gave me a totally new profile (I have about 50 now), signed in with nsec and got this:

I've tried all of the clients and signers and multiple wallets... as well as starting over.... I seem to be the only person on Nostr with these issues, although I think most non-tech people would give up right at the start. I believe in the protocol and I'm willing to suffer through pain; I just wasn't expecting this MUCH pain, lol.

I've tried all of them, my friend. All of them. Coracle works best on my iMac so I'm using that for now but I can't repost and can't receive notifications... I'm also on Damus on my iPhone (to get notifications) and Amethyst on my droid (no notifications...) I tried various LN apps and Alby worked the best, except that it's not working. 😵‍💫
