US people and Swedish people have very different relations to medication.
Swedes generally undermedicate. I have made a vow to compensate for it and take an aspirin when there's a rational reason to do so. And to keep aspirin and ibuprofen around to enable that. I know the names of paracetamol and ibuprofen because of a catchy song in a popular ad in the 90s.
When I watch some US shows, medical brands are part of the vocabulary and I have to stop and look them up to follow the dialog. The intended audience is so fluent in dozens of brands for various states of mind or body, that a character can go "ugh, I need my $BRAND" and you're supposed to know "oh, he's sad", or "oh, she's jittery for the presentation tomorrow", and I'm probably missing the more subtle "oh, that person is probably taking too much of their $OTHERBRAND".
I think that is the opioid crisis. Not some shady guy in a garage and/or another country responding to the demand.
I think the right balance is probably somewhere in between.

The HK government bought the Olympic Games rights for HK, so that people can watch it on any channel they like, whether it's Viu, TVB, Hoy, RTHK or something else.
But I can't seem to find anywhere online I can watch the table tennis semifinal that just finished. I found one place where I think I could have streamed it as it happened.

Not watching the trailers before watching Deadpool × Wolverine was the right choice, maaan they showed a lot.
I had my first big surprise just minutes into the film and that would have been ruined if I had been reading or watching anything about it in advance.

Apart from the control circuitry and maybe the datastream looking different, what would be the reason for someone picking one of NAND and NOR over the other for their persistent storage?
I was expecting them to be functionally equivalent and thought the industry had arbitrarily picked NAND over NOR decades ago, but apparently Apple Sllicon uses NOR for their recovery firmware?

It's more important to make sure you don't have millions of people in your country who "lose", and to have solid institutions that keep it that way even in the presence of "winners" trying to change that.
Good education, nutrition and transport for everyone goes a long way.

I'm perfectly happy with a CO2 tax that is on the total cost neutral. Charge everyone for their emissions, distribute the money back equally. Where's my hate for the poor now? The rich pollute more.

@npub162n…ja4e @npub1tt4…x9ud I originally wrote this with "user", but a lot of people including me don't like that word and I hate the word "stakeholders". Clients don't have to be paying clients, just someone or some community for whom we're making software.
It is perfectly valid to write software for oneself, just nerd away for the art and/or fun of it, but even for software written for oneself, more often the software is incidental and serves furthering some non-software goal.
Lots of people originally considering themselves non-developers get into software this way – linguists, lawyers, biologists, textile designers, tax accountants, visual designers, musicians, architects, farmers, divers ...

Code is our foremost method for solving client problems, but lines of code are a liability, not an asset. The fewer you can get away with while solving the client's problem equally well, the better.
