Wow, moving from Nix 24.11 to 25.05 was relatively simple. Only had to change a couple entries, everything built, and it seems to work. I updated all eleven nodes last night.

@nprofile…3sf2 I wonder how the decepticon slurpers handle the various zero-width spaces and invisible hyphens. Sadly, I suspect that if you put a Markov chain generator, Amazon would claim you are artificially padding your book length and burn you.

@nprofile…7dzf We are the "inflatable dragon" folks in our neighborhood. We found out that a couple families like to photograph their kids underneath them.
... we just need to find more dragons for more seasons. We only have Halloween and Christmas now.
Oh, and the "dozen red Roses." I got twelve Rose Nylund wearing a red dress signs and put them out every Mother's Day.

That is why "just do your own research" is basically a red flag that someone is trying to manipulate you. "I did my own research" is also one. Most people are terrible at research (just like I feel most developers don't know how to do root cause analysis) because they don't know how to teach themselves not to trust the first thing that sounds reasonable.
I really wish there were more curators. I also wished it was possible to pay or support them because that is a hard skill. That includes book reviewers and people who look at the dependencies of software packages.

@nprofile…pye9 I think it comes down to not wanting to find the "good ones" and the desire for a curator. But curators evolved into centralized location that wiped away all that beautiful distinctiveness for the pink slime of consistency (like Facebook stripping away all formatting to give just the words).

@nprofile…pye9 I know I don't get any traction on my Patreon, mainly because I went with a "what you see is what you'll get" and there are no tiers, specials, or patron-only benefits. It's just if you like what I write, fire a few coins at me (preferably not through a rail gun).
If I write it, it's on RSS (except for Flight of the Scions which was an experiment to see if locking that would make a difference).
