📨 New: Improvements to profile and event fetching!
@nprofile…s456 has improved Ditto's ability to retrieve content on the Nostr network, through both search and automatically pulling in missing events and profiles.
👀 New features in the pipeline:

- @nprofile…4l8s continued working on adding filter UI and new Explore tab to Ditto to improve content discoverability

- Daniel fixed the ability to remove a 👍 reaction
- Patrick fixed the ability to promote user to Admin in the UI
- Alex fixed nip05 requests, link previews, and a memory leak

- @nprofile…8cru experimented with building an AI help bot to assist Ditto users, open issues, and suggest improvements to documentation

NEW! We've added search filters on #Ditto to help you find the type of content you want to see.
Filters include: videos (#tiktok), media (#instagram), protocol (#Nostr or search over the @nprofile…ua8t bridge to the #Fediverse, #Mastoson, and #Bluesky), language, and domain. You can also combine multiple filters to find, for example, videos only from Nostr.
Experiment with these filters on Ditto today by typing them into the search bar. We plan to expand the UI to make this experience seamless in the future.

Ditto analyzes the events in your database and generates trends. It tracks trending hashtags, users, and posts to improve discoverability.
Since the data is public, any client can utilize it. For example, Coracle custom feeds have already been implemented using Ditto trends!

Thanks to the account portability and censorship-resistant design of Nostr, communities can choose what kind of content they want to engage with, without limiting the freedom of anyone else. Each Ditto server can have a group of moderators and admins who manage the server. They can view reports, delete posts, and approve or reject users.

Ditto implements the full Mastodon API which allows interoperability for any Mastodon client (like Tusky, for example), and we're continuing to improve the @npub1d03…pzfs for communication across protocols. However, we've moved away from implementing direct ActivityPub support. We made this pivot so users of Ditto don't have to take on the burden of the clunky and insecure ActivityPub protocol when we realized that thanks to the bridge it wasn't necessary for cross-protocol communication.
Ditto is really about taking the good ideas from Mastodon and bringing them to Nostr. Most importantly, community servers.
