Crazies are those who take an idea to the extreme (usually this means coercion of others) and disagreeing with them makes you their enemy for life. Think SJWs.
Most people tend to agree with them to fit in and showcase they are “moral” and “good”. For example, not saying anything when crazies beat people or throw soup on paintings.
The crazies then feel empowered to do more harm, and it goes to hell before most people realize their mistake.
I think a similar process leads to dictators and tyrannical regimes.

I guess the main problem is that it is not within our control. We’re at whim of the service provider.
I have 2FA turned on on my self-hosted services as well, but if I use Microsoft/Google, I should to be able to manage the security settings as well if I want (bearing the risks of course).
The current trend is to limit the user’s ability to do so, or eliminate it completely.

What is the harm in using an anonymous custodial LN for things like Nostr? Nobody should use it as their primary LN wallet but using it as a single-use, public-facing gateway, then just forwarding all of the sats to a self-hosted wallet is best imo.
