The reason for Duo's delay from last release is because we were so close to finishing RBF and CPfP that I wanted to get them done so I only had to build once. Ended up solving more bugs in the meantime. Literally doing Duo builds RIGHT NOW. Then submitting to app stores!

Did you know Stack supports testnet coins for BTC and its derivatives? Simply go to Advanced Settings and toggle the Testnet Coins option to see them in the list when making new wallets. A perfect way to introduce new people to crypto in a stress-free way.

We should have a handle on major bugs at this point. There are still a few minor ones and some optimizations to make, but we're doing well enough now that we're pushing forward to the next feature, which should (hopefully) be done within the week . A bit of an unexpected surprise 😉

📢 New Stack Wallet release (v1.9.0):
This version brings the exciting new privacy technology from @firoorg, Lelantus Spark, to Stack Wallet! 💥💥💥
Spark celebrated its mainnet launch just yesterday and is a powerful, bleeding-edge privacy technology (which we recommend everyone try out!)
In addition, we reworked a lot of the plumbing for wallets under the hood. This should solve several recurring bugs and make things generally easier to maintain and more flexible going forward. Given the scale of this refactor there may be a few bugs here and there, but rest easy - no funds are at risk.
If found, please report any new bugs in any of our channels so we can have those resolved ASAP. 🪲

New Stack Wallet release for all platforms. Version 1.8.1. This version has CashFusion for BCH as well as some Ethereum fixes.
Stack Duo is long overdue for a release, which would bring things like Tor over to it. We've got one other under-the-hood thing in the works that affects Bitcoin, so we'll be doing that first and then another Duo release. Sorry for the delays. Juggling these two apps is harder than you'd think. Thank you for your patience. More fun BTC stuff coming very soon.

New Stack Wallet release for all platforms (Android, iOS, F-Droid, Mac, Linux, and Windows). This new version includes built-in Tor!
We have tested thoroughly, but do not yet recommend usage if your safety depends on Tor not failing. Users please help us find areas where leaks may be occurring. There shouldn't be any, but we want to make 100% sure. In addition, Tor does not yet work for Monero or Epic Cash. Opening a wallet of one of these coins will leak your IP address. Getting it to work on these is in-progress.
Given the large nature of this update, there may be a few connection bugs on some things.
This is a huge achievement for us, and we'd like to thank the @FOUNDATIONdvcs
for collaborating with us on this as well as @torproject
for their constant work on Arti.

TL;DR Would anyone be interested in Stacky ordinals in exchange for donations (non-tax deductible) to the project of a certain amount?
A while ago we had our illustrators make Stacky stickers for Telegram. While working on LTC ordinals, we wanted to test sending them around in such a way that users won't accidentally have the output used as the fee and accidentally send their ordinals to miners.
Not wanting to use our moonbirds generously donated to our team by @LitecoinLabs, we minted the 14 Stacky stickers as ordinals for these testing purposes.
Now that we don't really have much use for them beyond memorabilia for the team, I was wondering if anyone would care to have one for a donation to Stack Wallet in any crypto currency? It'd be something like a $500 donation gets a Stacky, just as a "thanks" from the team. They have no real value otherwise.
Price can be discussed. Doesn't have to be offered at all, more than happy to keep them for the Stack Wallet team if nobody is interested. All funds help us continue development as, remember, we are a FULLY FOSS, non-traditionally VC funded wallet. :)

New Stack Wallet release. Not going to lie guys. This is a big one, because we seem to have solved the majority of Monero issues on iOS. The BIG thing keeping us from leaving open beta! More on that below after the release notes. Yes, Duo is being ported and built as we speak.
Release notes:
- Theme bug fixes
- iOS bug fixes (should be able to use Monero now, more fixes here to come)
- Lots of under-the-hood cleanup
- ETH token loading fix
- Price fetching fixes
- Strip cashaddr prefix before generating URIs
- Amount entry fixes
Now, regarding Monero. This isn't the move to Rust. That's still coming. Even though we've resolved this issue that has been plaguing us since day 1, the Rust code will still be more stable, better maintained, and come with lots of goodies built in like polyseed. But we will perhaps see about leaving open beta after another few rounds of bug fixes and stability for a month or two.
Report all the bugs you have! We're getting to them one by one. Still to fix are:
- Some connectivity issues on all platforms
- Firo fixes for restoring
- Wownero crash on iOS
- Doge sending issues
- And more
We're busy busy. And lots more to do. Sorry for the long post. Again, Duo coming in the next day or so.

New Stack Wallet release AND new Stack Duo release. Available for Android and Linux. On iOS both SW and SD are waiting for review.
Stack Duo: We've added all of the changes going into Stack Wallet including UI updates, animations, changing how amounts work under the hood (you might need to rescan your Bitocin wallets), and more.
Stack Wallet and Duo:
We've done a lot of bugfixes and additions on Paynyms, including generating SegWit change addresses, fixed a bug where some funds show up only after a rescan, and more. Also added haptic feedback to the PIN pad and copy address buttons.
Stack Wallet:
Ported a gap check fix from BTC to BCH.
Still a work day ahead of us today. May have more before the weekend. Please test the PayNym changes and let us know if it's all working as expected. We'll have another end of week update for you all soon.

New Stack Wallet release. This is a minor release while that just does some bugfixes while we get to the big stuff this week (the themes, tor, paynyms, etc that we discussed at end of week last week). iOS taking a bit, as usual. Should be soon.

- Bitcoin and BCH remove derivation paths stored alongside addresses. May require rescan of the wallet to work.
- Fix BCH 0-conf bugs
- Updated animations for sending, syncing, and more
- Set WOW confs to 15 before spending (cuz it had a chainsplit)

- Animations. We have stellar designers, illustrators, and animators. But we spend so much time on UX, that we have to jump to the next thing rather quickly to keep up. Our focus on ensuring proper information flow and good UX means we've sacrificed on the things that push the app from just an easy and excellent experience, to a beautiful one. We're taking a bit of time to address this now with adding a few animations and cleaning up a few icons. Not a big thing to notice, but one that we hope will further push us ahead.
- Misc bug fixes. Always.
Prelim research on lightning, whirlpool designs, and watch-only wallets.

End of week report! We didn't get a major release out this week, though a minor one should be coming out in the next 24 hours with bug fixes and UI updates. That doesn't mean we haven't been hard at work though. Here's what we've been up to.
- Tor integration took several strides this week. We're piggybacking off of the great people over at Foundation Devices, who maintain a dart interface for a cross-platform Rust library. But we're not just mooching. We're contributing upstream also. Tor should be in Stack Wallet and Duo very soon, which takes us one big step closer to whirlpool.
- Themes. We love themes, and we know you all do too. We get lots of positive comments about them. But the more themes we add, the more images, the more animations, and more, which bloats the size of the app. We've been working on redoing the way themes are done under the hood to allow for a theme storefront of sorts (don't worry, they'll be free). This means the app will be downloaded with just light and dark, but the user can easily navigate to the storefront in the settings and download only the themes they want. We'll also allow a way to install themes by a file on the device so anyone can download them in a way they think is most secure and import them manually.
- Binary building. Currently, we build everything from source every time we do builds, as is the FOSS way, but some of our submodules take forever to build. 45 min build times aren't conducive to rapid development and the build process can be frustrating for volunteer devs. So we're making the process easier by pushing our self made libraries to a repo and adding additional scripts to pull from those so we don't have to build the submodules all the time. It'll make it super easy for volunteers to contribute also. Don't worry, the normal build-everything-from-source way is still there too, and we'll be doing builds that we're pushing live that way still. Mostly a convenience thing for devs.
- PayNyms. There are a couple small things with paynyms we've found since we've launched. Adding SegWit change addresses rather than just legacy, some sends not showing up without having to do a full rescan, etc. Everything works mostly, but there's a few hiccups. We've made good progress in addressing those, and a fix for those problems should be up by next week.

Stack Wallet has released a new update (1.7.0, build 160) for both Android and iOS.
This is a big update. The biggest of which is Stack Wallet now supports the sending and receiving of Ethereum and ERC-20 tokens. There is NOT any web3 functionality. Just sending and receiving.
In addition, we've taken this opportunity to update our UI in several areas where it was lacking. The add wallet flow, for example, has been updated to accommodate for adding ETH and tokens and generally easier to navigate.
This release also includes other smaller bugfixes like for Firo sending edgecases and more.
In regards to ETH, there may be bugs. Nothing that should make a user lose funds, but it's a big big addition with a lot of code changes. Use caution, remember Stack Wallet is in open beta status, and let us know how we can improve things.

So Wownero peeps, we just found the issue a couple hours ago. There is a release coming out tonight that WON'T have the fix (this was ready to go since yesterday). But there will be a release in the next 24 hours that WILL have the fix and Wownero will be functional again.

Our plan is to switch over to a Rust Monero library made by our wonderful friends over at Serai DEX. It's still in development, and so we don't want to give a timeline for when this switch will be made, but we expect it to help solve the crashes we're having, compile for Windows, and reduce build times massively. After this change is made (which affects both Stack Wallet and Duo), I think we have everything we need to be considered production-ready.

We are currently using the Monero library from the wonderful people at Cake Wallet (who walk the walk and made it FOSS btw). But we do things a bit differently than them under the hood, and the lib isn't meeting our needs. In particular we can't compile for Windows (blocking our release of our desktop app), and we are having a major bug on iOS that causes crashes. Too many open files say the logs (if you're an iOS dev and want to help out, do let us know).

I'd like to take a moment to discuss Stack's current status.
I consider Stack Wallet (and Duo) to be open beta. In particular, there is one major issue blocking us from going into production-ready status. It may be one issue, but it is a big one and has a domino affect on other things. That issue is Monero.
