I actually support the enforcement of Trademark, though - its not about IP but product identity.
NVK is bringing an action under Trademark, if I understand him correctly. I don't expect him to be successful - IMHO the defendant is not impersonating his branding, and the similarities between the product names is only moderate. But a court will decide.
Either way, he's within his rights to initiate an action under Trademark, which in Common Law predates the modern state by centuries and is not really part of IP.

If Pop OS has all the required build tools (looks like they do) and packaged libraries (probably), you should be able to plonk the source down in your /opt folder, build the TB binary in place, then just run TB from there without messing up your package manager.
I currently do this for FreeCAD, because Devuan's packaged build is ancient...

I remember my Chinese ex watching something about endangered critters somewhere, and turning to me, very angry, wanting to know why Western media would do this.
I was a bit baffled by her reaction, and said something about raising awareness so people know that the critters should be protected.
She gave me her trademarked "how are white people this stupid?" look for about the count of three, then told me:
"The more Chinese people know it is endangered, the more they will want to eat it".
Farming Pangolins is a good idea, but I expect, in the context of Chinese culinary culture, its like trying to stop a freight train with a butterfly net. If farming them is troublesome, difficult to scale or just slow, it will become just an ear-tagging process for wild-caught ones.
I don't have a good solution, though. If the human populations where pangolins live want to hunt them to extintion to make a quick buck, that's their right.

Barium partially substitutes for potassium, and slows down a lot of metabolic activity, especially in the brain. Its salts aren't very soluable, but, as you pointed out, the required dosages are very small. Works by inducing hypokalemia, even if potassium is available in the diet.
