I don't have a node yet. Age shouldn't be the excuse, I'm approaching 70 and my husband close to 80. Yet, I'm being a bit chicken about it. Thinking of having call with The Bitcoin Way or watching Matthew Kratter's instruction videos multiple times till I'm confident. I do have my stash on cold hard wallet and off exchange, naturally.
My husband and I were chatting about getting a designated laptop just for running a node. As I said, more education needed on my part (and confidence). Sometimes I go down the route of thinking that we'll let the young ones run nodes and mine. I feel selfish when I have those thoughts, however we can't afford at our age to lose what we have. We don't own our own home (which is another long story about banks and financial advisors, the fiat system got us good a while ago). 🤣😂🫣🧡

The drama unfolded in a criminal case involving federal police officer William Wheatley, who allegedly swiped 81.6 Bitcoin back in 2019. What started as a $492,000 heist is now worth a staggering $13 million – talk about a crypto glow-up!
Judge Michael O'Connell dropped a legal bombshell by ruling that Bitcoin should be treated as money, not property. It's like comparing digital gold to cold, hard cash – a game-changing perspective that could revolutionize crypto taxation in Australia.

Only Dutch and English proficiently. Understand Frisian very well, understand German if spoken slowly in simple terms. If immersed I could maybe get by in German. After 2 weeks in Noumea years ago, I could get what I needed in French in the super simplest ways. I think that having even 2 well developed languages and having learned another couple at school and uni (now forgotten due to lack of use), then it seems easier to pick up new languages. Immersion and frequent use is key. I've noticed too that I'm very good at understanding new migrants in Australia who have very strong accents. Better than my husband or friends. For all the reasons above, I think it's really beneficial for children to be fluent in two languages. It improves their ability to learn their own language too. 🧡✨🤗

I learned English at age of 8. It was weird, when coming from a phonetic language like Dutch, I agree. I understand Frisian too and a little German. Frisian Is mentioned in the article which surprised me because so few people seem to know about it. I was in Curaçao the first 4 years of life, where they speak Papiamento, Spanish and Dutch, so I've been exposed/immersed in a few. 😃
Spelling bees not being common in phonetic languages is understandable. Hadn't thought of that before. 🥹😆
